Norwegian Wood

  1. Dear Mr. B of Beefy,

I, too, have shared you enchantment of Norway. I mean what isn't endearing about log cabins, reindeer, and Nordic svelteness?

I managed to go there in September, and I have to tell ya.... wasn't sold on it. It's the most expensive place I have ever been. {And I live in England.} $15 for a big Mac.

There were highlights for sure {ice hotel, fjord cruises, etc.} But the photos make it look sightly better than it actually was.

So, if I might save you some trouble- head to Sweden. It's where the real party is. :)

  4. So rusty and cozy, with a little memento mori to keep you in place. Love it :)

  5. The Minnesota girl in me is loving this. In my opinion it's not winter unless there is at least a few feet of snow on the ground.

  8. The natural wood is one element I like about Scandinavian design. I really love that floor lamp with the hanging light. Smart design and simple.

  9. You might like Norwegian songwriter and singer Thomas Dybdahl. I've been listening to him a lot over the last year or so. Can't get enough of him.

  10. This is my dream, seriously!! I'd just have to figure out how to incorporate a chic play space within the house. You know, my friends and family all laugh at me because I've always said I will not be one of those families with a plastic swingset in the backyard and 14 noise-making toys in the living room... and, you know what? So far, so good! No need, Beef, no need. I know you agree. I mean, there's no reason why Devon and her little sis can't have just as much fun playing with a disco ball and homemade magic wands, as opposed to lame-o cartoons and mass-produced toys that clash with our decor. Am I right? :)
